Jaroslav Obšut

Jaroslav Obšut ( born March 9, 1976 in Prešov, Czechoslovakia) is a Slovak ice hockey player who was most recently at the 2012 HK Donbass Donetsk in the Kontinental Hockey League contract.

Career

Jaroslav Obšut began his career as a hockey player with the North Battleford North Stars, for which he was active in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League. Then the winger spent two years playing in the Canadian Junior Football League Western Hockey League for the Swift Current Broncos, Edmonton Ice and Medicine Hat Tigers, where he finished the 1996/97 season with the Toledo Storm from the East Coast Hockey League. In the following season, he ran almost exclusively on the Raleigh Icecaps in the ECHL, but also denied four games for the Syracuse Crunch of the American Hockey League. From 1998 to 2001 he was at the Worcester IceCats from the AHL under contract. During this period he also ran for the Peoria Rivermen and Augusta Lynx in the ECHL, and the Manitoba Moose of the International Hockey League on. During the season 2000/ 01 he also for the St. Louis Blues made ​​his debut in the National Hockey League, was no points in four games and won two penalty minutes.

In the 2001 /02 season Obšut for the Colorado Avalanche came to a further three inserts in the NHL, but the entire rest of the time was for their AHL farm team Hershey Bears on the ice. After a further two years in the AHL with his former club Manitoba Moose, who in 2001 changed the league after the dissolution of IHL, the national team and Olympic athletes went from 2002 to Europe, where he Swedish 2004-2009 for Luleå HF in the Elitserien was active. He was then committed to the 2009/10 season from HK Spartak Moscow of the Kontinental Hockey League. In late summer and autumn of 2012 he played for HK Donbass Donetsk in the KHL, before he was released in November 2012.

Internationally

For Slovakia Obšut participated in Salt Lake City in the World Championships in 2005 and 2009, the World Cup of Hockey in 2004 and the 2002 Winter Olympics.
