Jasey-Jay Anderson

Jasey -Jay Anderson ( born April 13, 1975 in Montreal ) is a Canadian snowboarder.

Anderson began his international career with the launch of the Snowboard FIS World Cup on 18 December 1996 at Sun Peaks Resort, where he drove for the first time in the giant slalom with third place on the podium. Then he started in the Continental, where he could win multiple races. At the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano Anderson drove to 16th place in the giant slalom. On March 27, 1998, he won at the Canadian championships for the first time the championship title in the giant slalom. On November 20, 1998, he was the first to win a World Cup race in parallel giant slalom in Tandadalen. This, however, remained for some years his only World Cup victory. In the Snowboard World Championship 1999 in Berchtesgaden, he drove in the parallel giant slalom on the 11th place in the giant slalom on the 12th Place and in the parallel slalom reached the 25th place. After the World Cup, he reached the World Cup multiple positions on the podium. A year later he won at the Canadian Championships, which were held in Okemo, United States, again the champion in giant slalom. In snowboard cross and in the slalom he failed narrowly and won silver. After he was able to win after the national championships several times in the Continental Cup, he scored several victories in the World Cup in snowboard cross and parallel giant slalom race. In the Snowboard World Championship 2001 in Madonna di Campiglio, he was in the giant slalom world champion for the first time. In the same year he again won the Canadian championship in snowboard cross. A year later he competed at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, reaching there number 29 in the parallel giant slalom. At the National Championships in 2002, he won both titles for the first time in the giant slalom and parallel giant slalom. A year later, the victory was in the giant slalom. In the Snowboard World Championships 2005 in Whistler, he won the gold medal in the parallel giant slalom and in the parallel slalom. In snowboard cross, he reached the 10th place. In Turin he could finish in 5th place in the snowboard cross at the 2006 Winter Olympics and the 20th place in the parallel giant slalom. In the Snowboard World Championships 2009 in Gangwon he repeated his success in 2005 and again won the world title in the parallel giant slalom. A year later at the 2010 Winter Olympics, he won at the end of his career first gold in the parallel giant slalom. Shortly after the games, he finished with the new winning the Canadian Championships at first his active career. Since the winter of 2011/12 he again takes part in competitions. In the parallel giant slalom of the 2014 Winter Olympics he finished in 14th place.

Anderson now lives in Mont Tremblant, is married and has two children.
