Jason Day (Golfer)
Jason Day (born 12 November 1987 in Beaudesert, Queensland ) is an Australian professional golfer. Day was born as the son of an Australian father and a Filipino mother. He is married and lives in Fort Worth, Texas.
Amateur career
He scored his first major success in 2000, when he won the Australian Junior Masters at the age of 13 years. As a result, he was able to finish twice a season as a First Place at the Australian Junior Order of Merit.
In the Queensland Open, he finished seventh and thus best amateur.
In the U.S., he was victorious in the class of boys 15 to 17 in age at the Callaway World Junior Championship in 2004 and in 2005 was second in the Porter Cup.
Professional career
Day joined in July 2006, turned professional and began to participate in tournaments on the PGA Tour. He made the cut in five of his first six tournaments. However, he failed to qualify for the PGA Tour in 2007, he then played in the Nationwide Tour.
He was given his victory at the Legend Financial Group Classic 2007 became the youngest golfer who was until then win an event at one of the three tournament series of the PGA.
With the final 5th place on the money list the Nationwide Tour, he secured the PGA Tour Card for 2008.
In 2010 he won the HP Byron Nelson Championship and became the youngest Australians, who succeeded a tournament victory on the PGA Tour.
In 2011, he took in his first appearance at the Masters the shared 2nd place with 12 under par and achieved the best result of a debutant. And the next major tournament, the U.S. Open, he reached the 2nd place, making it temporarily pushed forward into the top ten in the world rankings.
2013 Day won both the individual classification as a team with Australia Adam Scott ISPS Handa World Cup of Golf.
The greatest success celebrated Day in February 2014, winning the WGC - Accenture Match Play Championship, which took him to No. 4 in the world rankings.
