Jason Kapono

Jason Alan Kapono ( born February 2, 1981 in Long Beach, California) is an American professional basketball player who plays for Panathinaikos Athens.

After Jason Kapono played between 1999 and 2003 for the University of California, he was selected in the NBA Draft 2003, 31 out of the Cleveland Cavaliers. After his rookie season with the Cavaliers, he was obliged by the former expansion team Charlotte Bobcats. After one season with the Bobcats, he joined the Miami Heat, with whom he won the 2006 NBA championship.

As part of the NBA All- Star Game 2007 he won the Three-Point Shootout. In addition, he pointed at the end of the NBA season 2006/ 07 with 51.4 % in the best hit rate beyond the three point line.

In summer 2007, Kapono became a free agent. On 11 July 2007 he signed a contract with the Toronto Raptors.

Even with the NBA All-Star Game 2008 Jason Kapono won the Three-Point Shootout. In the last passage he met sensational 20 of 25 throws and set with 25 points set a new record for the final round on. He neutralized so that the record established 22 years ago by Craig Hodges. In addition, he had in the NBA season 2007/ 08 with 48.3% in turn throw the best rate of the three- point line.

On 9 June 2009 Kapono was traded to the Philadelphia 76ers against Reggie Evans ( getraded ). After the end of his contract with the 76ers, Kapono was taken by the Los Angeles Lakers under contract.

The Lakers were trading Kapono in March 2012 to the Cleveland Cavaliers. But this broke the contract with him.

In November 2012, he moved to Panathinaikos, but left the club just a few months later in February 2013. This was due to its low use time.
