Jason Kenny

Jason Francis Kenny MBE ( born March 23, 1988 in Bolton ) is a British racing cyclist, multiple world champion and Olympic champion.

Sports career

Jason Kenny takes in track cycling, specializing there on the short-term disciplines Sprint and Team Sprint. After winning several junior titles, both in Europe, as well as on world level in 2006 and reaching two bronze medals at the Junior European Championships ( U23 ) in Germany in 2007, Kenny UK qualified to be represented at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing.

With Chris Hoy and Jamie Staff in 2008 won the Olympic gold medal in the team sprint. In the sprint, he had only his compatriot Chris Hoy beaten and won the silver medal behind this.

In spring 2011, Kenny won at the UCI Track World Championships 2011 in Apeldoorn, the silver medal in the sprint. After the French rider Gregory Bauge was stripped of the gold medal for violation of the reporting requirements of the WADA in January 2012, because this is officially classified as a doping offense, the gold medal went to Kenny.

At the 2012 Olympic Games in London Jason Kenny won with Chris Hoy and Philip Hindes his second gold medal in the team sprint; a third gold medal he secured in the sprint.

Honors

Jason Kenny was honored with induction into the Hall of Fame of the European Cycling Union Union Européenne de Cyclisme.
