Jason Leonard

Jason Leonard ( born August 14, 1968 in Barking ) is an English former rugby player. He played on the position of the pillar. He held up to 2005 the record for most international matches, he had to give to George Gregan. Counting his games for the British and Irish Lions, he was overtaken by Gregan until 17 June 2006. Leonard has 119 international appearances, including 114 for England. As a player he won every major international trophies that there was to win for him: Triple Crown, Grand Slam and the World Cup 2003.

In his impressive career, he played successfully in the amateur and professional time of fifteen rugby for club teams Barking, Saracens and Harlequins. His first international match took place in 1990 against the Pumas from Argentina instead. He played up to the final of the 2003 World Cup, in which he came as a replacement onto the pitch, and especially stabilized the crowd. This was his fourth World Cup and the second time that he had played in a World Cup final. In 1991, he had lost with England still against Australia.

Jason Leonard is indisputably one of the legends of English rugby and one of the great models of the sport.
