Jason Nicholas Miller ( born December 24, 1980 in Atlanta, nicknamed Mayhem ) is a retired American mixed martial arts fighter and moderator. He used mainly Brazilian Jiu- Jitsu and Muay Thai techniques. Miller trained at Team Quest in Temecula and had extensively with Randy Couture, Marc Laimon and with Quinton Jackson, with whom he grew up, trained. He co- hosted regularly " Mayhem Mondays" on the Jason Ellis Show on Sirius Satellite Radio.

Miller denied, among other fights at Strikeforce, the Pride successor legend and two fights in the Ultimate Fighting Championship. As of March 17, 2010 included his Event Statistics 23 wins and seven defeats.

Jason Miller was a presenter on the reality TV show Bully Beatdown running on MTV since March 2009, now in its third and final season. In the broadcast he had candidates who were presented as bullies ( bullies ) to compete against professional MMA fighter in the ring.

Early life

Jason Miller was born on 24 December 1980 in a military hospital. Both parents were in the military and so the family spent most of his youth when traveling around the United States. The family lived in council estates at army bases, the longest in Fort Bragg, North Carolina. As a child, he trained at times traditional martial arts, and his father, a 82nd - Airborne Paratrooper was a former amateur boxer. Miller wrote to his father in interviews a lot of his combat experience street fighting and brawling. Jason Miller began at the age of 16, became interested in mixed martial arts when he saw video tapes of Ultimate Fighting Championship, Pride and Vale Tudo Brazil. He started his training after he pulled a hockey chest protector and Tae -Kwon -Do gloves and lost by a stranglehold in a sparring against a smaller, weaker friend. He was thrown out of school because of fights and had to move for his high school senior year in a rural town, which had an early mixed- martial-arts school. In this year he began to train seriously and again began to struggle, which he had previously abandoned. He missed his prom and arranged to meet with a girl instead, to see his first professional MMA fight at Virginia Beach, Virginia in April 1999.

After leaving his home, he began to travel around the country to his MMA career to continue. In order to finance his lifestyle, he fought in small events across the country and taught mixed martial arts. He was famous for living in a van in front of the HB Ultimate Training Center in Huntington Beach, California. He also lived for rent in various sports halls and rooms when he traveled to Las Vegas, Hawaii and Los Angeles to improve his fighting techniques.

Mixed - martial-arts career

" Mayhem" has fought in a variety of organizations, including ICON Sport, Ultimate Fighting Championship, DREAM and Strikeforce. He defeated opponents in his career as Falaniko Vitale, Ronald Jhun, Egan Inoue, Denis Kang, Kala Hose, Toby Imada and Robbie Lawler.

After the fight against Ronald Jhun a riot broke out and Miller was hit by Mark Moreno on the back of the head. This set the stage for a grudge match were created, and Miller dominated Moreno, defeated him with an armbar at the end of the first round and made the famous Shaka sign, before he defeated him. Mayhem was most famously through a bloody battle with the Canadian superstar Georges St. Pierre at UFC 52, he lost by a unanimous decision.

On September 2, 2006 Mayhem won the Icon Sport Middleweight title from " Ruthless " Robbie Lawler by arm triangle in the third round. In December of the same year, Mayhem lost his first title defense in a fight in which he was regarded as the favorite against Frank Trigg by TKO in the second round. On 5 October 2006 Miller took part in Anything Goes, a professional wrestling event of Action Zone Wrestling.

Currently Mayhem is fighting for the Japanese MMA event DREAM, where he was part of the 2008 Middleweight Grand Prix. He was defeated by Ronaldo de Souza at DREAM.4 in the semifinals of the tournament. Miller lost by unanimous decision against " Jacare " in a fight where it looked most of the time when he would be stopped by a task.

The two fought again, but this time around the Dream Middleweight belt ( a title which is free, Gegard Mousasi has changed since then in the light heavyweight class). The fight ended with a frustrating crash, Miller landed a soccer kick on Jacarés forehead. The kick opened a large gash on Jacarés head, which brought the doctors to stop the fight. Soccer kicks are not allowed in legend, the fight was stopped because the tread was not intentional. Both fighters agreed, to confront again in an event in September 2009. The future of this struggle back was uncertain as Souza later signed a contract with Strikeforce. Miller fought on November 7, 2009 in Strikeforce: Fedor vs.. Rogers against Jake Shields. The fight was for the Strikeforce Middleweight title as Cung Le stepped down as champion to pursue his acting career.

Ultimately, Miller lost the battle for the Strikeforce middleweight title with a unanimous decision against Jake Shields. Although he was unable to withstand the low litters of Jake Shields, he also scored a couple of low- throws late in the first round, and came closest to end the fight, when he brought Shields in the last 10 seconds of the third round in a body triangle. The task was completed by the end of the third round.

Miller met Tim Stout at Strikeforce: Nashville on April 17, 2010, and won the fight by TKO in the first round.

After Miller Robbie Lawler should at Strikeforce on June 16, 2010: meet Los Angeles, but he was by his actions at Strikeforce: Nashville where he confronted Jake Shields with a rematch after Shields defeated UFC veteran Dan Henderson, of the map removed.

There was suspicion that Miller would fight in October against Nick Diaz, but the fight was not realized. " Mayhem" will instead compete in Dream.16 against Kazushi Sakuraba on September 25.

On April 22, 2011 it was announced that Miller leaves Strikeforce, and now back fighting in the UFC. His first opponent was Aaron Simpson, whom he met on 2 July 2011 as part of the event UFC 132. The fight had to be canceled because of "The Ultimate Fighter " Participation of Miller. For the first time in the history of "The Ultimate Fighter " should compete in the finals on December 3, 2011, the two coaches against each other. Miller lost that fight by TKO in round 3 after 3:33 minutes by referee Steve Mazzagatti stopped the fight.

After losing to CB Dollaway at UFC 146 UFC president Dana White announced on the day known that the career of Miller is finished in the UFC. 28 May 2012 Miller resigned from professional MMA.

Strikeforce: Nashville brawl

During the Nachkampf interviews after Jake Shields ' victory over Dan Henderson, Miller succeeded somehow in the cage and interrupted Shields by asking, "Where's my rematch, buddy? ". After both Gilbert Melendez and Shields Miller had pushed away, beat Nick Diaz and thus started a whole fight. Members of the Cesar Gracie Jiu - Jitsu camp, which includes members such as Melendez, Diaz and Nate Diaz, attacked Miller while he was held back by members of Diaz's camp. The fight was then stopped by referees, members of Dan Henderson's corner and security. Miller will now be reviewed by Strike Force and the Tennessee State Athletic Commission and perhaps suspended. Strikeforce has already pulled him out of a scheduled bout with Robbie Lawler and says she will comply with any decision, taken by the Commission.
