Jason Muzzatti
Jason Mark MUZZATTI ( born February 3, 1970 in Toronto, Ontario ) is a former Italian- Canadian professional ice hockey goaltender and current coach. During his career he played for the Calgary Flames, Hartford Whalers, New York Rangers and San Jose Sharks of the National Hockey League, Tappara Tampere of the SM - liiga and the Polar Bears Berlin and Augsburger Panther in the Deutsche Eishockey Liga.

Career
Jason MUZZATTI studied four years from 1987 to 1991 at Michigan State University, for their hockey team he played in parallel in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association of the National Collegiate Athletic Association. In the years 1989 and 1990 he won with his team the championship in each of the CCHA. Between 1988 and 1990, the Canadian was called three times in one of the many all-star teams. Previously, the Calgary Flames already had him selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 1988 in the first round, 21st place.
After completing his college days of Italo - Canadians became a professional and ran for the Salt Lake Golden Eagles of the International Hockey League, who were the farm team of the Calgary Flames at this time. The 1993/94 season he spent then at the Saint John Flames of the American Hockey League, another farm team of Calgary, the first time appointed him during the season in NHL roster and put him once. Took a similar lockout - shortened season in 1994/95, while it was mainly used in the AHL, he came again to an NHL - use.
As the Calgary Flames, however, were not satisfied with the development of their first-round draft picks, they put him before the season 1995/96 on the waiver list. From there chose him from the Hartford Whalers, mostly put him as a back -up in the NHL team. So he came into this season on 22 times in the NHL, of which he could but win only four. Furthermore, employed as a back-up behind Sean Burke, he was in the game 1996/ 97 31 times in goal for the Whalers, but could with only nine wins again not quite meet expectations.
In the summer of 1997, the Hartford Whalers were relocated to North Carolina and played from now on as Carolina Hurricanes. Since MUZZATTI had publicly criticized the resettlement and could no longer identify with the new franchise, the Hurricanes transferred him before the season for a draft pick of the fourth round to the New York Rangers. This put him in the 1997/98 season six times since MUZZATTI but finished none of the games as the winner, he was delivered to the U.S. West Coast to the San Jose Sharks in March 1998 in exchange for Rich Brennan. After a further use there he left America and moved to Europe.
On the European continent, he signed a contract with the polar bear from Berlin of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga, but due to a heart operation he fell large parts of the season 1998/ 99 from. The following year, he joined the Finnish SM- liiga, where he played for Tappara Tampere to return to Germany after only one year, this time to the Augsburger Panther. In the summer of 2001, the goalkeeper moved to Italy in the Serie A1. Three years he stood in the gate of the HC Milano Vipers with whom he celebrated three Italian league titles between 2002 and 2004, before moving within the league for HC Bolzano.
In the summer of 2006 MUZZATTI returned the Italian league back and walked back to North America. There he undertook the Flint Generals of the United Hockey League, which has since been renamed the International Hockey League. After MUZZATTI had ended his active career with the Flint Generals after the season 2006/ 07, he began his career as a coach for season 2008/ 09 as an assistant coach of the Flint Generals. A season later, he served as head coach of the team and managed the team made it into the playoffs, where they lost in the finals against the Fort Wayne Komets. Then MUZZATTI was chosen coach of the year the IHL.
Internationally
His good performances in Serie A brought MUZZATTI 2004, the first-time nomination for the Italian national team one after he had already contested in the 1992/93 season with the Canadian national team some games. So MUZZATTI took the Italians at the B World Championships in 2004 and 2005. Additionally, he participated in the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin in part and played in the A- World Cup 2006, after 2005, the rise was successful.
