Jason White (rugby union)

Jason Phillip Randall White ( born April 17, 1978 in Edinburgh) is a Scottish rugby union player who is active for ASM Clermont Auvergne and the Scottish national team. He plays in the second row, as a winger or number eight. He is one of the most feared Tacklern in international rugby.

White was captain of the school selection and in the U 19 and U 21 2000 and gave his debut for the senior team against England. His first try he scored in 2002 against the United States. In the 2003 /04 season he put in four consecutive games three more attempts. He moved into this season of the Glasgow Warriors in the Guinness Premiership at the Sale Sharks. Because of injuries, he joined the squad of British and Irish Lions as a reserve player, and came to Auckland to use one.

In November 2005, White was first appointed captain of the Scottish national team. This was followed by 10 more games as captain until a year later against Romania injured his knee. He fell as a result of for nine months and came in ahead of the World Cup back in the squad. It was during the World Cup and at two games of the Six Nations 2008 Scotland captain before he was replaced by Mike Blair.

In 2009, White moved to France to ASM Clermont Auvergne.
