Jau-Dignac-et-Loirac

Jau - Dignac -et- Loirac is a commune in the Gironde department in the region of Aquitaine. It lies in the district Lesparre -Médoc and adjoins the northeastern shore of the Gironde. The place consists of three mutually triangular part lying places and is three kilometers away from the river. It has 1037 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) and is equipped with 24 inh. / Km ² one of the most sparsely populated areas of the department. Jau - Dignac -et- Loirac located about 80 km north-west of Bordeaux and about 10 kilometers south-east of the Gironde estuary in Le Verdon -sur -Mer.

History

The country was already inhabited in Roman times, as the excavations of La Chapelle Saint- Siméon prove over the centuries has been the tide swept the country.
