The Jawor, Upper Sorbian Jawora ( " maple creek " ), is a right tributary of the Black Elster in the Sorbian settlement area.

It springs from two sources at Leipsberg northwest of Kaschwitz. The western Quellarm touches Kriepitz and feeds the local ponds, while the other Quellarm the place happened 500 meters to the east.

Course

The creek flows first north, then suggests, however, an easterly direction and crosses under the road S 100 before he again turns north and Miltitz crosses, which he leaves to the west. Before he reached Nebelschütz, it flows through the former memory Nebelschütz and resumes its original northerly direction. Finally, the Jawor passes northeast of Kamenz by German Baselitz, fed there, among other ponds the German Baselitzer large pond and ends after about 14 kilometers as its outflow into the Black Elster.

The Jawor often runs meandering and straightened sections and expanded.
