Jawor Food AG was a resident of Denmark company that belonged to the GDR currency purchasing system of the Commercial Coordination of Alexander Schalk - Golodkowski.

The Jawor Food AG was founded in 1956 in Copenhagen Valby by Gunnar Jawor. The purpose of the company was to deliver food to the GDR, which was paid by the recipients with accumulated foreign currency. Since there from 1959 was no longer the GDR citizens able to access their property in the West, Jawor Food agreed with the Ministry of Foreign Trade of the GDR to a different modality. The company is now offering people from the West the opportunity to select goods from the Genex catalog, they pay with foreign currency and to have the goods to get an East German citizens. An East German citizens or even a church could obtain coveted consumer goods so quickly. The GDR was because the majority of products produced in the Soviet bloc and an exchange rate of 1:1 was placed between the D-Mark and Mark of the GDR to reason that in this way the coveted foreign exchange.

The GDR used alongside the Jawor Food Company nor the Zurich Palatinus GmbH to distribute the Genex catalogs in the West to serve customers and to transfer through their accounts in Germany the money in the GDR.

The scope of business increased over time more and more. 1988 were the gross receipts of Jawor Food AG $ at about 175 million U.S..

With the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989 were also related to the fiscal basis of Jawor Food AG.
