Jaufre Rudel

Jaufré pack (French Geoffroi; * 1100, † 1147 ) was a southern French nobleman who as a troubadour ( minstrel ) received altokzitanischer language in the history of literature.

Life and Legend

About the person of Jaufré little is known except that he ( the present-day town of Blaye and environment in the department of Gironde), was the younger son of Geoffroi herd, sire de Blaya and thus belonged to the family Taillefer. In the biographies ( vidas ) Provencal poets, Hugues de Saint- Cyr wrote in 1225, it is called a prince [ Prince ] de Blaye, a title that was not uncommon among his ancestors. Great influence on Jaufré pack poetry had Duke William IX. of Aquitaine ( 1071-1126/27 ), which is referred to as its "godfather in poetry ", but also as his " stepfather ", but got the same in strong conflict with him.
