Jaurés Lamarque Pons

Jaurés Lamarque Pons ( born May 9, 1917 in Salto, † June 11, 1982 in Montevideo) was an Uruguayan pianist and composer.

Biography

The second son of Enrique and Maria Eulalia Lamarque Pons began at the age of eight years with the violin in Salto at Egidio Monetti. From the age of 17, he continued his musical education then continued at Guillermo Kolischer in Montevideo. He also furthered his musical education with Tomás Mujica, Guido Santórsola and Enrique Casal Chapí. At 22, he took a job as a pianist at the Capitol Dancing, a cabaret in the Calle Itauzaingó to. There now began his career as Orquesta Típica pianist. From 1940, he was then employed in the café Tabari as part of the orchestra Luis Caruso. He stepped from then on radio, television, cabarets and restaurants. In 1980 he composed a provided with a text by Julio Garet Mas anthem for Salto.
