Java Desktop System
Java Desktop System ( JDS ) is a Desktop Environment from Sun Microsystems for Solaris ( The Linux version has been set). It is based on Gnome, but was now greatly changed.
Development
The idea behind JDS was to create a system for the average computer user. The software package is equipped with e- mail, calendar, Office, Web, instant messaging, and multimedia applications. The operating concept is partly modeled after Microsoft Windows.
