Java District

Municipality Djawa (Georgian ჯავის მუნიციპალიტეტი ) is a municipality ( county ) in Georgia, in the region of Inner Kartli. The administrative center is the city Djawa, the surface is 1448 km ². Since the Georgian-South Ossetian conflict in 1992, the territory of the municipality is not controlled by the Georgian government, but by the internationally recognized by few countries Republic of South Ossetia. According to South Ossetian view is the part of the municipality Rajon dsau. The current population is unknown; 1989 lived here some 10,400 people.

The municipality Djawa located on the southern mountain slope of the Caucasus, in the valleys of the rivers Big Liakhvi, Qwirila and Dschedschora.
