The Rio Javari ( Portuguese) or Río Yavarí (Spanish ), short or Yavarí Javari, is a 1180 km long river in Brazil and Peru in the Amazon Basin.

The Javari forms over its entire length, the border between Peru ( west bank ) and Brazil. It rises in Peru in the Sierra de Contamana in the region Ucayali. The mouth is located in the city Atalaia do Norte. His mouth is called three arms and two islands, Islândia and Petrópolis. The river meanders strong and is navigable only in its lower reaches.
