Javi Moreno

Javier Moreno Valera ( born September 10, 1974 in Silla ), better known as Javi Moreno, is a former Spanish footballer.

Career

Association

Moreno's professional career began at FC Barcelona B in Segunda División. After brief stint playing for FC Córdoba and Yeclano Deportivo he landed in the second half of the 1997/98 season for the first time at the then second division side Deportivo Alavés. The club was relegated to the end of the season, however, Moreno decided to become a stay in the second division and moved to CD Numancia. There he developed in the 1998/ 99 to the key players and contributed with his performances to the fact that Numancia in the club's history in the Primera División rose for the first time.

Shortly after the rise with Numancia returned Moreno back to Deportivo Alavés and eventually made a name for themselves. In the season 1999/2000 he qualified with the club from the Basque Country for the UEFA Cup. In the 2000 /01 season he was top scorer with 22 goals third of the Spanish league. In addition, he attended with his team at the European level for a sensation: In the second round of the UEFA Cup was thrown Inter Milan out of the competition. So once the catchment already succeeded at the first Euro Cup participation of the club history the final. In the memorable final game against Liverpool Alavés was already at half time 1:3 back before Moreno took his team immediately after the break with a double back into the game. The game then went into overtime and ultimately lost with 4:5.

Through his performances this season Moreno attracted the interest of several European top clubs up. For the season 2001 /02 he then moved to Serie A for AC Milan. However, in Italy, Moreno could not prevail from the start. So he returned after only one year in Milan back to Spain and signed a contract with Atlético Madrid Erstligaaufsteiger. First still used regularly, Moreno also had in the Spanish capital more frequently the bench press. In the second half of the season 2003/ 04 he was then loaned out to Bolton Wanderers in the Premier League. Even there, however, the striker remained scoreless and lost with the association, the League Cup final against Middlesbrough FC.

Then Moreno took a further change of club and ended up at Real Zaragoza. In Aragon Moreno was first team regular. With a goal in the final second leg of the Supercopa de España against Valencia, he contributed the title. Then, however, he played only 18 league games and took a radical step. He left the Spanish side and moved to the Segunda División B, the third Spanish league to his former club FC Cordoba. At this level, Moreno was back to his old form. In the 2006/07 season with 24 goals, he was the top scorer of the league and helped his team to promotion to the Segunda División. After three years in Córdoba Moreno moved to the third-division club UD Ibiza. Since he did not come there on the expected operating times, he finally ended his career in 2008. A year later, Moreno returned with 35 years again to active football back and played some games for the third-division club Lucena CF, before he finally hung up his football boots on the nail.

National

Moreno debuted as a result of its strong 2000/01 season at Deportivo Alavés on 28 February 2001 for the Spanish national team as part of a friendly match against England. During the year, he played five matches and scored in a qualifying match for the 2002 World Cup against Bosnia- Herzegovina a goal. He was then but will not factor in the Selección.
