Javier Navarrete

Javier Navarrete ( born 1956 in Teruel ) is a Spanish composer who is best known for his film music.

He retired with 19 years from Barcelona. Here he formed in the 1980s, a well-known especially for electronic music duo with today's film music composer Alberto Iglesias. Navarrete has composed film scores first for Catalan TV series and TV movies and, increasingly, for cinema production. He became internationally known for his film music for Guillermo del Toro Pan's Labyrinth. Previously, he had already written the soundtrack for Toros del film The Devil 's Backbone (2001), who also plays the Franco era in Spain. For the compositions in Pan's Labyrinth, he was nominated for, among others, the Spanish Goya Film Awards and an Academy Award in 2007. In addition to Guillermo del Toro are Antonio Chavarrías, Agustí Villaronga and María Lidón directors with whom Navarrete has repeatedly worked with.
