Jaworzno Power Station

The power plant is located in Jaworzno Jaworzno in Silesia. Since 29 December 2000, the power plant is part of the Południowy Koncern Energetyczny SA

The first power plant in Jaworzno was built in 1898. Back then delivered two units a DC voltage with an output of 320 kW. In 1903, at the coal mine " Friedrich August " (now " Pilsudski " ) a new boiler house with two boilers installed within the buildings of the future power plant, thereby increasing the power to 800 kW. 1921, the plant was expanded to a capacity of 7620 kW and 1938 one more time to 39.12 MW.

In the years 1948-1952 a new boiler and two new turbines were installed, the system now had a total capacity of 110.3 MW. After a modernization of the plant in 1959, the performance increased to 157.9 MW.

The power plant Jaworzno III consists of six power plant units with a total installed capacity of 1345 MW.
