Jaxartosaurus

  • South Kazakhstan ( Ongtüstik Qazaqstan )

Jaxartosaurus is a little known dinosaurs from the family of hadrosaur, who is only known from a single skull including the braincase. The only valid type is Jaxartosaurus aralensis. The second way described J. fuyunensis applies dubium as a noun.

Jaxartosaurus had a shortened, laterally arched frontal bone. The frontal bone, the prefrontal and the lacrimal bones were to grooved, as in other Hadrosauriern, to form a base for the nasal bone. The frontal bone was not part of the anterior margin of the orbit. The typical hadrosaur skull crest was extremely short.
