Jay Hakkinen

Career

Jay Hakkinen starts since 1997 for the U.S. National Biathlon team and is coached by two Swedes Mikael Löfgren and Per Nilsson. His club is the WSV Oberhof 05 in Germany. His best finish in a World Cup race won Hakkinen 1999 at his home race in Lake Placid, where he finished 5th. Overall Hakkinen comes on five top-10 finishes in World Cup races, best result at a major event is the 10th place at the 2006 Winter Olympics in singles. In the overall World Cup was the 33rd of the season 2004/2005 Hakkinen's best result.

When relay race of the 2006 Winter Olympics Hakkinen showed that he is one of the extended world bit by he gave as a starter for the U.S. team in the lead to his teammate Tim Burke. At the end of the United States was in the relay race 9, which was the best result of the Americans in international championships since 1972.
