Jay-Jay Johanson

Jay -Jay Johanson (born 1969 in Trollhättan as Jäje Johansson ) is a Swedish musician, singer and composer. His music, which is characterized mainly by Johanson's melancholy lyrics, is stylistically based mainly on the trip-hop genre.

Life

After already in November 1994, their first demo recordings were created, Jay- Jay Johanson published in August 1996, his debut whiskey, whose sound was influenced by jazz vocals bizarre film noir arrangements. In 1998, the successor appeared tattoo.

Johanson's third album Poison was released in April 2000 and debuted at fourth place in the French charts. This contains were also contributions from the Cocteau Twins guitarist Robin Guthrie and founder. In the same year Johanson composed the soundtrack to the film La Confusion Des Genres by French director Ilan Cohen. The following year, Jay -Jay Johanson came with the audio-video installation " Cosmodrome " in appearance, which was presented to the public for the first time in Dijon. This artwork has traveled throughout the world and was last shown at the Musée d'Art Modern in Paris.

With the album Antenna, the radio interference was produced in collaboration with the German IDM artists, Johanson suggested a new direction musically in 2002 and turned to the electroclash to. Was published in 2004 under the title Prologue a compilation of Johanson's previous work, which aimed at the American market. Followed in 2005 by the album Rush, which was partly produced by French producer Jean -Pierre Ensuque.

In spring 2006, Jay- Jay Johanson gathered those musicians around him, with whom he had worked on the first three releases. The resulting album, The Long Term Physical Effects Are Not Yet Known Johanson returned in 2007 to his characteristic sound back. The subsequent tour started in China and led by 30 cities worldwide.
