Jay Laga'aia

Jay Laga'aia ( born September 10, 1963 in Auckland ) is a New Zealand - Australian actor.

Life and work

Jay Laga'aia comes from a large family Samoan - Polynesian origin and grew up in South Auckland. He has eight other siblings or half-siblings.

The mid-1980s Laga'aia first began to be active as an actor and had leading roles in several television series. These include mainly New Zealand and Australian productions such as Xena - Warrior Princess (1995-1998), Water Rats - The Hafencops (1996-2001), All Saints (2005-2006) and McLeod's Daughters (2007).

As a film actor, he had for the first time in the fantasy film The Navigator (1988 ) a minor role. His best-known film role is that of Captain Typho, which he in Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones (2002) and Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith embodied ( 2005).

From 2008 to 2009 he played in the fantasy series Legend of the Seeker - The Sword of Truth, the role of Chase. From 2010 to 2012, he was also seen in the role of Elijah Johnson in the Australian soap opera Home and Away recurring.

Laga'aia is since 1990 with Sandra Jane, a native Briton, married and father of eight children. His eldest son from a previous relationship. He now owns next to the New Zealand and Australian citizen and lives with his family during the rotation time outdoors near Sydney.
