Jay McClement

Jay McClement ( born March 2, 1983 in Kingston, Ontario ) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player. Since July 2012, he plays for the Toronto Maple Leafs in the National Hockey League on the position of the center.

Playing career

The 1.83 m wide center began his career with the Brampton Battalion in the Canadian Junior Football League OHL before being selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 2001 as 57th in the second round of the blues.

First, the Canadians played for the Worcester IceCats, an AHL farm team of the St. Louis Blues, his first NHL game McClement completed on 5 October 2005 against the Detroit Red Wings, his first goal followed on 11 October 2005 against the Chicago Blackhawks. On 19 February 2011, the Centre was in a swap deal of the blues together with Erik Johnson and a first-round draft pick for the NHL Entry Draft in 2011 transferred to the Colorado Avalanche, St. Louis received in return defender Kevin Shattenkirk, Chris Stewart and the attacker a second-round draft pick for the NHL Entry Draft in 2011.

On July 1, 2012 Jay McClement signed a two year contract with the Toronto Maple Leafs.
