Jay McKee

Jay McKee ( born September 8, 1977 in Kingston, Ontario ) is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey player and current coach, who during his active career, among other things for the Buffalo Sabres, St. Louis Blues and Pittsburgh Penguins played in the National Hockey League.

Career

Jay McKee began his career as a hockey player in Canada's top junior league Ontario Hockey League, where he was active for the Sudbury Wolves and Niagara Falls Thunder 1993-1996. During this time he was selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 1995 in the first round than a total of 14 players from the Buffalo Sabres

For the Sabres, he played from 1996 to 2006 in the National Hockey League. In the first three years in Buffalo defender also came to their farm team in the American Hockey League, the Rochester Americans, are used. During the lockout in the 2004/05 season the links Sagittarius paused with ice hockey. After McKee had accrued from 2006 to 2009 for the St. Louis Blues, he received on 9 July 2009 a one-year contract with the reigning Stanley Cup champion Pittsburgh Penguins.

End of August 2011 McKee was hired by the Rochester Americans as assistant coach.
