Jazz Magazine

Jazz Magazine is a French jazz magazine, which was founded in 1954 by music producer, jazz band leader and club owner Eddie Barclay, his wife Nicole and Jacques Souplet. Soon after its founding were Frank Ténot ( who came from Jazz Hot ) and the photographer, radio host and later publisher of Paris Match Daniel Filipacchi, the chief and from 1956 the owners. In the 1960s, Jean -Louis Ginibre was Editor in Chief, the 1971 Philippe Carles followed, who held this position until 2006.

Jacques Souplet, who wrote as Ténot for Jazz Hot, was later a co-founder of the Jazz Festival in Antibes, General Director of Barclays record label ( Disques Barclay ) and CBS Disques ( the French CBS). Long-standing authors were Philippe Carles (since 1962 ) and Jean -Pierre Moussaron.

2009 was the magazine Jazzman, founded in 1992 on it. She was initially a free supplement of Le Monde de la Musique and was released in 1995 with the first independent number. She was just as Jazz Magazine in possession of Nemm Gestion, led by the daughter of Frank Ténot, Sarah Ténot.

The magazine is published monthly. Currently ( 2012) Frédéric Goaty chief editor.
