Jdbgmgr.exe virus hoax

The teddy bear virus is a hoax from the year 2002. Hoax claims that the JDBGMGR.EXE file is a virus and should be deleted. In fact, these file whose icon is a gray teddy bear (also known under the name " Microsoft - bear" ) is part of the Microsoft Internet Explorer and Microsoft Debugger Registrar for containing the Java.

Probably this hoax was triggered by the virus W32/Magistr. This infected system files ( including the JDBGMGR.EXE ) and sends them, but with a slightly changed file names, by e -mail. Sometimes the hoax is also with other file names in circulation, this usually includes the SETDEBUG.EXE file because it uses the same icon. Many computer users find these files suspect, because it contains the system files rather " untypical " icon. But even before files with other symbols, such as Sulfnbk.exe or UPWIZUN.EXE been warned.

Problems that could arise by deleting the JDBGMGR.EXE, only Java developers (Microsoft Visual J v1.1 ) are usually affected.
