Jean Baptiste Accolay

Jean Baptiste Accolay ( born April 17, 1833 in Brussels; † August 19, 1900 in Bruges ) was a Belgian composer, violinist, violin teacher and conductor of the Romantic period.

His most famous work is the Violin Concerto No. 1 in A minor from 1868, which consists of only one sentence. Although it is a student work that is still in the violin lessons will use even today, there have played many famous violinists, including Itzhak Perlman. Fascinating because especially the great expressive power of expression, despite the use of simple technical means.
