Jean-Baptiste Krumpholz

Jean -Baptiste Krumpholz ( Czech: Jan Křtitel Krumpholtz; born May 8, 1742 in Bude Nice / Zlonice, † February 19, 1790 in Paris) was a Czech composer and harpist.

Life

Jean -Baptiste Krumpholz received his first musical instruction from his father in Paris, where he also grew up. An important stage in his life played Austria; among other things he gave in 1773 a very successful concert at the Burgtheater in Vienna and is during his time as a member of the Esterházy orchestra ( 1773-1776 ) also counterpoint with Haydn have taken hours. Some popularity his compositions enjoyed (but only in his lifetime ); Concerts and compositions for can be called " his" instrument, the harp. A special relationship linking it to Jan Ladislav Dusík: Before his flight to London his wife, Anne -Marie Krumpholz left (1755-1824), her husband, to go with the composer in the British capital. Of grief to Krumpholz 1790 drowned in the Seine. As fate may well be called that Anne -Marie was later abandoned even by Dusík for his second wife Sophie Corri.
