Jean-Baptiste Madou

Jean -Baptiste Madou ( born February 3, 1796 in Brussels, † April 3, 1877 ) was a Belgian painter.

Life

Madou first made himself as a lithographer by publishing anthologies on Belgian costumes, then a physiognomy de la société en Europe de nos jours à Louis IX ( 1835-36 ) a name. Are the Scènes de la vie de l' école the peintres flamande et hollandaise (1840 ) particularly well known. His numerous oil and watercolor paintings usually deal with genre scenes from earlier times.
