Jean-Baptiste Thillaie Delaborde

Jean -Baptiste Thillais Delaborde ( born June 9, 1730 in Nevers, † the end of January 1777 Cola Celle, also De La Borde ) was a French theologian and inventor.

Life

Delaborde joined in 1745 as a novice in the Society of Jesus. After the dissolution of the Order in France in 1762, he spent some time in Poland. After his return he lived until his death as a priest in Cola Celle.

Clavessin électrique

Delaborde invented the Clavessin électrique. This electric " harpsichord " worked with produced by friction electric current triggered by a keyboard, small hammer bell, brought to sound. The invention could be visited at Delaborde and excited the astonishment of the public. The instrument and the treatise preserved in the French National Library.
