Jean André Emanuel Beausejour Coliqueo ( born June 1, 1984 in Santiago de Chile) is a Chilean football player, who stands at Wigan Athletic in the English Premier League under contract. He acts preferentially on the wings as winger. Beausejours father is from Haiti.

Career

Association

Jean Beausejour began his career in his homeland with CD Universidad Católica. After the first year had not yet been able to enforce, he moved Players out on loan to CD Universidad de Concepción. There he rose to with good services for a regular player in the midfield. Also, upon his return to CD Universidad Católica he fell on positive and scored three goals in 15 games the Chilean championship. After he had attracted interest from other clubs, he went to Europe in 2004 and signed with the Swiss first division club Servette Geneva. After eleven games with a scoring he left the club and went back to South America and signed with Brazilian club Gremio; at the club used to play Ronaldinho and Mario Jardel. There, they took him only a few months, one reason was the lack of match practice. For this reason, he went back to Europe and signed with Belgian first division club KAA Gent. There was for him no good. For this reason, he went in early 2007 again returned to South America and returned to his homeland. It was not until he stood at CD Cobreloa and then at CD O'Higgins in the first Chilean league contract. For CD O'Higgins, he scored 13 goals in 34 games and was instrumental in the good results of the club. 2009 Beausejour joined the Mexican side Club América tradition and there rose quickly to the regulars on. After good performances at the 2010 World Cup, he moved end of August 2010 for the third time to Europe, as Birmingham City signed him on August 31. As he descended with the team in the 2010/11 season in the second division, he moved in the winter of 2012 back to the first division to Wigan Athletic. There he signed a two and a half year contract.

National

For the Chilean football team he ran since 2004 in 31 countries playing on ( As of June 29 2010). In the qualifying match for the World Cup 2010 on 10 June 2009, he scored against Bolivia the gate to a 1-0 lead, it was also his first scoring in the national team. His second goal he succeeded at the Football World Cup 2010 in South Africa in the first match of Chile against Honduras. He scored in the 34th minute to make it 1-0, this was also the final score and the first victory of the Chilean team at a World Cup since 1962. Overall, he came to three other stakes before the team was eliminated in the second round against Brazil.
