Jean Bertin

Jean Bertin ( born September 5, 1917 in Druyes -les -Belles -Fontaines in the department of Yonne, † December 21, 1975 in Neuilly -sur -Seine ) was a French engineer and Aero boaters. His name is closely associated with the development of Aérotrain.

He studied at the École polytechnique ( Graduation year 1938) and aéronautique at the École supérieure de l' ( SUPAERO ). Since 1944 he worked for the French National Society for the development of aircraft engines ( Société nationale d' études et de construction de moteurs d'aviation, SNECMA ) a.

In 1955, he founded the company Bertin & Cie, the most famous activity is the development of Aérotrain. Bertin died one and a half years after the French government had terminated the contract on a Aérotrain line between Cergy and La Défense.
