Jean Cadell

Jean Cadell (* September 13, 1884 in Edinburgh, Scotland, † September 24, 1967 in London, England) was a British actress.

Life and career

In a period of over 50 years, she worked on both British and American theaters on about four times on Broadway or in London. In addition, she appeared 1912-1962 in almost 60 film and television productions. Because of their fiery red at least in their early films hair it was used in dynamic roles, such as a sharp-tongued wife or confident housekeeper. Your only trip to Hollywood was the supporting role of Mrs. George Cukor film adaptation Micwaber in David Copperfield, although their biggest scene - the emigration of her family to Australia - was removed from the finished film. Cadells older brother was the artist Francis Cadell. She was married to actor Percival Clarke, her son was the later theatrical agent John Cadell ( born 1915 ). Even Jean Cadells grandchildren Patrick, Simon and Selina Cadell were actors.
