Jean Capelle

Jean Capelle ( born October 26, 1913 in Liege, † February 20, 1977 ) was a Belgian football player at the position of a striker.

Capelle was 1929-1944 active for his hometown club Standard Liege. He completed 285 games for Liege, in which he scored 242 goals.

National

Jean Capelle made ​​his debut in 1931 at the age of 17 years and 153 days in the Belgian national team. By 1939, Capelle played 34 games in which he scored 19 goals. He stood in the Belgian squad for the World Cup in 1934 and came in the 2:5 defeat in the second-round match against Germany for use. In the World Cup 1938 he was re-appointed to the squad, but not used.
