Jean Chapot

Jean Chapot (* November 15, 1930 in Bois -Guillaume, Seine- Maritime, † April 10, 1998 in Neuilly -sur -Seine, Hauts -de -Seine département ) was a French film director, screenwriter and film producer. He directed several movies, including chimney No. 4 and The Lioness and her hunters.

Life and career

Jean Chapot in 1930 in the Seine -Maritime to the world. Chapot the 1957 experience had collected as a supporting actor in Alex Joffé's film drama The Merciless front of the camera, began his film career in 1960 as a real screenwriter for director Robert Menegoz with the film comedy The House of 1000 window. The main roles were played by Pierre Fresnay and Jean -Louis Trintignant.

In 1966 he turned the film drama chimney # 4 in the occupation of Romy Schneider, Michel Piccoli and Hans Christian sheet, for which he also wrote the screenplay himself.

In 1972, he won the Palme d'Or at the International Film Festival in Cannes for Best Short Film for Le fusil à lunette

In 1973 the highly critically acclaimed psychological thriller The Lioness and her hunter with Alain Delon and Simone Signoret in the lead roles and a coherent atmospheric soundtrack by Jean -Michel Jarre, the son of the French composer Maurice Jarre.

Since 1978, some consequences for the French crime drama series created under his aegis, the cases of Monsieur Cabrol and several TV movies such as: Livingstone ( 1981), Frédéric and prostitutes (1991 ) or Honorin et l' enfant prodigue (1994).

Chapot died on 10 April 1998 in Neuilly -sur -Seine at the age of 57 years.
