Jean-Claude Amiot

Jean -Claude Amiot ( born October 18, 1939 in Vichy, France ) is a French composer, music teacher and conductor.

At age seven he received his first music lessons for violin at the Conservatory in Le Mans. Later, he took private lessons for piano. In 1955 he began his studies at the Conservatory of Lyon in the clarinet and harmony as well as later fugue and counterpoint with César Geoffray. After completing these subjects he studied conducting at the Scola Cantorum in Paris with Edmond Pendleton until 1963.

In 1964 he took part in New York at the conductor Dimitri Mitropoulos Competition. In the Faculty of poetry, he enrolled in Lyon and graduated after two years with the bachelor of Philosophy from. After completing his military service in various military band in 1963 he first music teacher at the College in Belleville. He also founded a choir of 100 singers. He was director of the Conservatory of Mâcon, 1968; One year later, conductor of the Orchestre d'Harmonie de Mâcon. He was also conductor of the Chamber Orchestra of the National Music School of Mâcon. Later, he became director of the Conservatoire Emmanuel Chabrier in Clermont- Ferrand (Auvergne ), France and conductor of l' orchester du Conservatoire National de Région. He has been a guest conductor of the Symphony Orchestra of the University of Aberdeen
