Jean Favier

Jean Favier ( born April 2, 1932 in Paris ) is a French medievalist and writer.

Life

As a former student of the École Nationale des Chartes, he worked as an archivist, teacher and writer. From 1975 to 1994 he was Director General of the Archives de France, 1994-1997 President of the Bibliothèque nationale de France. In addition, he joined the radio, mainly observed at France Inter hosted the show Questionmark pour l' Histoire. Favier were some tributes to part. He has the Grand Cross of the Legion of Honour and of the Ordre national du Mérite and is Commander of the Ordre des Palmes Académiques, the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres and the Order of the Oak Crown, as well as an officer of the Order of Merit.
