Jean Ferrand

Jean Ferrand ( † 11 November 1990) was a French professional ice hockey goaltender and functionary.

Career

Jean Ferrand spent his career as a player from 1945 to 1956 as the goalkeeper in Gap Hockey Club. From 1954 to 1971 he was club president in Gap. From 1970 to 1983 he was president of the National Hockey Committee at the International Ice Hockey Federation IIHF. Subsequently, he was until his death seven years president of the Fédération française des sports de glace. In 2008, he was among the first five individuals who were included in the Temple de la reputation français du hockey. According to him, the Trophée Jean Ferrand also is named, which is awarded annually to the best goalkeeper in the Ligue Magnus, the highest French Hockey League.
