Jean Grae
Jean Grae ( born Tsidi Ibrahim born November 27, 1976 in South Africa) is an American rapper.
Career
Jean Grae is the daughter of jazz pianist Abdullah Ibrahim and the singer Sathima Bea Benjamin. At the time, known as What? What?, She began her career as a member of the group Natural Resource, in which it was recorded in the middle of the 90s of the rapper Ocean. The group founded in 1997 her own record label, Makin ' Records and released over several maxi singles, including Negro League Baseball. In addition to her work for the group she also produced for other artists of the label.
1998 broke the group apart due to musical differences, but Jean Grae had ( as it was called from that date ) continue to numerous appearances on songs of other musicians, as with the Beatminerz and Masta Ace. Both worked with on their debut album, released under the name Attack Of The Attacking Things 2002.
They then released an EP in 2003 first and 2004 another album on Babygrande Records before The Orchestral Files launched three years later to the market. 2008 Jeanius followed Talib Kweli's label Blacksmith over.
