Jean-Guy Trudel
Jean -Guy Trudel ( born October 18, 1975 in Sudbury, Ontario ) is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey player, current coach and functionary, of the during his active career, among other things for the Phoenix Coyotes and Minnesota Wild of the National Hockey League as well as for HC Ambri -Piotta and the ZSC Lions was active in the National League A.
Career
Trudel began his career in the Ligue de hockey junior majeur du Québec at the Beauport Harfangs and later transferred for one year Verdun Collège Français and for two seasons with the Hull Olympiques. After he had scored 50 goals and 71 assists in his last junior year, he was in season 1996/97, made his professional debut at the Quad City Mallards of the then Colonial Hockey League. However, he did not stay there long, but changed for each a few games at the Peoria Rivermen of the East Coast Hockey League, the San Antonio Dragons and the Chicago Wolves, in each case from the International Hockey League. The following season he played exclusively for Peoria in the ECHL, but a year later moved to the Kansas City Blades in the IHL.
In summer 1999, he signed as a free agent contract with the Phoenix Coyotes and gave in the course of the season made his debut in the NHL, but played almost exclusively for the farm team of the Coyotes that. Prior to the 2007/ 08 season, he decided to once again to give it a try in the NHL and signed a contract with the St. Louis Blues. However, he was only in the farm team the Blues in the AHL, the Peoria Rivermen, for use, so that he returned in the summer of 2008 to Switzerland to reigning Swiss champion ZSC Lions and signed a contract for two years here. With the people of Zurich in January 2009, he won the Champions Hockey League, where he contributed a goal to the final victory.
During his engagement in Switzerland Trudel had begun a career as a hockey coach in the United States and was initially employed in the course of the 2008/09 season in the role of assistant coach with the Peoria Mustangs from a unterklassigen junior league. After Trudel had ended his involvement with the ZSC Lions, he took over for season 2010/11 the head coaching job at the Peoria Mustangs Hockey League were active now in the North American 3, and a season later the duties of general manager.
