Jean Hagen
Jean Hagen ( born August 3, 1923 as Jean Shirley Verhagen in Chicago, Illinois; † August 29, 1977 in Los Angeles, California ) was an American actress.
Life
She was the daughter of Marie and Christian Verhagen. After graduating from Elkhart High School, she studied acting and worked part-time as an usher in the theater. In 1949 she made her film debut opposite Katharine Hepburn and Spencer Tracy in the film Adam's Rib. Among her greatest successes include their later role as Doll Conovan in The Asphalt Jungle and their comedic View as Lina Lamont with Gene Kelly in Singin ' lucky stars for which one they nominated in 1952 for an Oscar.
From 1947 to 1965 Hagen was married to actor Tom Seidel. The couple had two children. In the last years of her life, the artist was mainly seen in television productions. She died of throat cancer.
