Jean-Louis Tixier-Vignancour

Jean -Louis Tixier - Vignancour, born as Jean Louis Tixier Gilbert, ( born October 12, 1907 in Paris, † 29 September 1989 ) was a French lawyer and politician.

Tixier - Vignancour was 1936 to 1940 ( and 1956 to 1958 for the independent list républicaine d' action sociale et Paysanne ) Deputy of the Basses- Pyrénées. In Vichy regime 1940-1941 he was Secretary for Information ( Secrétaire général adjoint à l' information de l' État français). As a lawyer, he was known to the early 1960s, especially for the defense of the OAS members. He represented General Raoul Salan (1899-1984) in 1962, where he carried his in France because of their rhetorical brilliance widely admired defense speech ( she also appeared on records ) the death penalty could deny and de Gaulle assassin Jean -Marie Bastien- Thiry 1963, which was however executed.
