Inventor of prestressed concrete - in the late 1940s and early 1950s, he learned new techniques of concrete construction know and more effective ways to bridge parts together. During this time he worked with Freyssinet on a number of important projects such as the construction of three bridges prestressed concrete along the highway from La Guaira to Caracas in Venezuela.
