Jean Makoun

Jean II Makoun (born 29 May 1983; Yaoundé ) is a Cameroonian footballer who currently plays for French club Stade Rennes.

Career

The defensive midfielder comes from the youth department of Tonnerre Yaoundé, where he was also a few times in the first team to use. At the beginning of the season 2001/ 02 he joined the second team of Lille.

After a season Makoun rose in the professional squad in Lille. In his first season he came up with ten inserts, since 2002, the Cameroonian was a regular player.

With the Cameroonian national Makoun participated, among others, at the African Cup of Nations in 2004 and 2008.

For the season 2008/ 09 he moved for an estimated 15 million euro transfer fee to the French series champions Lyon.

During the winter break of the season 2010/11 Makoun joined Aston Villa. In August 2011 he was loaned to the end of the 2011/12 season to the Greek giants Olympiakos Piraeus.

In the deciding match against Tunisia to qualify for the World Cup in Brazil on November 17, 2013, was from the beginning for use. Makoun thereby pass two goals in the 4-1 victory of Cameroon.
