Jean-Marc de La Sablière

Jean -Marc de La Sablière ( born November 8, 1946 in Athens ) is a French diplomat.

Life

Jean -Marc de La Sablière is the son of Bertrand Edmond Rochereau de la Sablière. He studied law at the Institut d' études politiques de Paris in Paris and at the École nationale d'administration with a grant Rabelais. He joined the Foreign Service on 1 June 1973. At the Quai d' Orsay, he headed the department of sub-Saharan Africa.

From 2000 to 2002 he advised Jacques Chirac. From 2002 to 2007 he represented the French government at the UN headquarters and the permanent seat on the UN Security Council. Since 2007 he has been ambassador in Rome and as such resides in the Palazzo Farnese. He is an officer of the Legion of Honor and Knight of the Order of Merit.
