Jean-Marcel Jeanneney

Jean -Marcel Jeanneney ( born November 13, 1910 in Paris, † September 17, 2010 ) was a French politician.

Family

Jean -Marcel Jeanneney was the son of Jules Jeanneney, the deputy in the National Assembly, President of the Senate and Minister under Charles de Gaulle. His son is the French politician and historian Jean -Noël Jeanneney.

Policy

Jeanneney was in the cabinet of Michel Debré 1959-1962 Commerce and Industry Minister. Between 1962 and 1963 he was the first ambassador of France in Algeria. From 1966 to 1968 he was Minister of Social Affairs. In 1969 he was briefly Minister of Justice, succeeding René Capitant.
