Jean Marsan

Jean Marsan ( born April 7, 1920 in Levallois -Perret, France, † September 29, 1977 in Grez -sur -Loing ) was a French actor and author, who has been nominated once for an Academy Award for best original story.

Life

Marsan was 1946-1947 actor at the Comédie- Française in 1949 and gave his debut as a film actor in Interdit au public by Fred Pasquali with Catherine Auger, Simone and Jacques Duhart Erwin in the lead roles. The film was based on his eponymous stage work. In 1953 he also began his work as a screenwriter for the Jean Boyer directed film Femmes de Paris with Michel Simon, Brigitte Auber, and Henri Genes.

At the Academy Awards in 1956, he and Henry Troyat, Jacques Perret, Henri Verneuil and Raoul Ploquin nominated for the Academy Award for best original story for the film comedy The mutton with five legs (Le mouton à cinq pattes, 1955) by Henri Verneuil with Fernandel Françoise Arnoul and Andrex in the lead roles.

He played until 1961 with four other films and was a 1966-1976 for ensemble of actors for the television drama series Au théâtre ce soir, for which he also contributed as an author in addition to their own songs and adaptations.
