Jean-Michel Bayle

Jean -Michel Bayle ( born April 1, 1969 in Manosque, Alpes -de -Haute -Provence, France ) is a French motorcycle racer.

Career

He began his career with the first race in 1981 to motocross machines. Within a few years he won some of the biggest titles in this sport, including two World Championships, as well as the highly regarded U.S. motocross series of the AMA in the two major classes within one year.

Then looking for new challenges, he moved from 1993 to 1999 in the Motorcycle Road World Championships, where he first three years in the 250 cc class for Aprilia and then in the 500cc World Championship for Yamaha and Kenny Roberts sr. ' Team Modena drove. His greatest successes were two pole positions and the ninth World Cup place in 1996.

In the years 2002 and 2003 he won two of the most important endurance race for motorcycles, the Bol d' Or and the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

In 2006 Bayle joined the French Touring Car Series Touring Cup on Opel. Again, now on four wheels, he could retract pole positions and victories in his first season and took the title.
